The Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi has a debt of 256,652 GEL ($86,818/€76,667) for natural gas fees which have been accumulated for three years, says the Tbilisi Energy.

The gas company said that they have divided these accumulated fees for the cathedral in February 2020 over the next ten years but still the cathedral has paid neither the current fees nor the monthly share of the accumulated fees.

We have urged the cathedral several times to pay bills or divide the sum over the years but they have not responded. In February we decided to divide the accumulated 227,329 GEL ($76,899/€67,908) over the next ten years“ says the company.

The company has stopped supplying gas as we had a debt accumulated of three years. We have nothing to say except thank you to the company as they considered us many times and had not stopped supplying gas then,” said Priest Ioane Mtchedlishvili.

Tbilisi Energy stopped supplying gas to the cathedral on April 23, this year.
