5th person dies of COVID-19 in Georgia

A fifth person has died of COVID-19 in Georgia earlier today.
The 68-year-old man from Bolnisi municipality, with several underlying illnesses, was undergoing treatment in the First University Clinic of Tbilisi.
The man previously suffered a heart attack and lung-related issues, doctors said.
Georgia has reported three new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 411.
98 of the 411 people have recovered, while five others have died.
As of today 306 individuals inside the country remain infected with the coronavirus.
5,160 people are under quarantine and 579 others in hospitals.
A third Georgian citizen, a 65-year-old man, has died of the COVID-19 virus in Spain yesterday, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia confirmed today.
Giuli Urushadze, 80, is one of the 86 individuals who have recovered from coronavirus in Georgia. "I am 80 and I defeated coronavirus”, she wrote on Facebook yesterday. Urushadze said She had been on the hardest path “on the verge of life and death” for ten days and nights.
Georgia reported a fourth coronavirus-related death last night. The 70-year-old woman was a native of the Georgian Black Sea region of Adjara and had underlying chronic diseases. As of now, the country has a total of 388 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 86 recoveries.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has stated that the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres praised the steps taken by the Georgian government in the fight against the coronavirus during a phone conversation yesterday.
The state of emergency is likely to be extended in Georgia until May 22, while the restrictions on the private car use, which entered into force on April 17, will be maintained through April 26. The government has already appealed to the president regarding the extension of the state of emergency which was declared on March 21. 'The restrictions on the private vehicle use around the country will be gradually lifted starting April 27,” the PM’s Spokesman Irakli Chikovani said earlier today.
The ruling Georgian Dream party has accused the opposition of organising a rally in the Marneuli municipality of eastern Georgia earlier today, which has been on lockdown due to the coronavirus since March 23.
Four infected individuals have recuperated from the coronavirus in Georgia increasing the total number of recoveries to 111. As of now, there are a total of 420 confirmed cases in the country, including five deaths. 302 individuals remain infected with COVID-19.
