Minister Zalkaliani met with the NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller at NATO headquarters today.

During his visit Minister Zalkaliani addressed the meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission as well.
At the meeting the participants discussed Georgia’s role and practical engagement in ensuring Black Sea security.

Minister Zalkaliani also briefed the commission members on the situation in Georgia’s Russian occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).
Representatives of the NATO member states once again reiterated their support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty within its internationally recognised borders and praised the country’s peace policy.

The NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg's recent trip to Tbilisi, today's visit of the NATO Military Committee and the ongoing NATO-Georgia Exercise were also highly assessed.
The parties agree that the NATO-Georgia relations this week have yet again proved that Georgia has a special place in the political agenda of the Alliance, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
