A container ship has begun operating between Georgian and Ukrainian ports, announces Georgian Railway.
The first container ship has entered the Poti Black Sea port today.
The ship will operate once a week.
The initiative will reduce time to carry cargo between Europe and Asia and will reduce tariffs.
The ship operating between Georgia and Ukraine will increase Georgian rail freight turnover, increase the traffic intensity of block trains and increase the competitiveness of the Georgian railway corridor, the company says.
