Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia spoke of the situation in occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) regions with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the South Caucasus Rudolf Michalka.
PM Gakharia said that the recent developments in the occupied territories undermine regional security.

In particular, Gakharia spoke of the grave human rights violations and discrimination against ethnic Georgians in the occupied regions.
He further focused on illegal “borderisation” and the destructive steps of the occupation forces near the village of Chorchana in Khashuri Municipality close to occupation line with Tskhinvali.
At the meeting Gakharia and Michalka underscored importance of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) meetings and the Geneva International Discussions (GID) to address the issues of concern.

Rudolf Michalka, who is also the co-chair of the GID pledged to continue ensuring constructive and result-oriented negotiations under the Geneva format together with other co-chairs, PM’s press office reported.
Stressing the importance of the OSCE support for the peaceful conflict-resolution in Georgia, PM Gakharia expressed his readiness to continue close cooperation with the organisation.
