Summer season opens in Georgia’s mountainous Bakuriani resort

The summer season has officially opened at Georgia’s mountainous Bakuriani resort earlier today, which is one of the most popular destinations for holiday makers in winter.
The Georgian Mountain Resort Development Company of the Ministry of Economy of Georgia says that the government has plans to make mountain resorts an attractive destination for visitors around the year.
All the ski lifts will work from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Bakuriani during the summer season,” the agency reports.

The agency says that visitors have opportunities to enjoy a 6,000 meter-long bicycle track, made both for professionals and amateurs.
A toboggan designed for ski resorts, the first such sled in Transcaucasia, also serves holiday-makers,” the agency says.
The summer season in another mountainous resort of Georgia Gudauri opened on June 29.
The ski lifts there work from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Georgia hosted 328,486 tourists in March 2019, showing an increase of 4.3% year-on-year (y/y) announces the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA).
