President names his parliamentary secretary

Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili has named former head of Georgia’s Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA) Ana Natsvlishvili as his new parliamentary secretary.

Natsvlishvili, who chaired one of the most influential Non-Government Organizations in Georgia between 2014-2017 will replace Anna Dolidze in the role as the latter was appointed to the High Council of Justice by the president.

Margvelashvili stated he selected Natsvlishvili for the role based on her high qualifications and skills in judiciary and human rights.

We continue very close cooperation with the parliament of Georgia,” Margvelashvili said.

Natsvlishvili vowed she would be as open to the public and media as she used to be up to now.

It is a huge responsibility for me,” Natsvlishvili said.

The majority representative Giorgi Kakhiani described Natsvlishvili as a qualified   lawyer.

  • In 2011-2012 Natsvlishvili studied at Essex University, Great Britain, and received her MA diploma in human rights and international humanitarian law.
  • In 2006-2007 she studied in the Central European University in Hungary, where she completed her studies with an MA degree in human rights law.
  • In Georgia she graduated from Tbilisi State University, faculty of law, in 2006 with a BA degree.
