The Georgian women archers were crowned champions at the European Archery Grand Prix that concluded last weekend in Bulgaria’s capital of Sofia.
The three-member team took the gold in the recurve category, finishing ahead of Japan and Turkey in the tournament that saw 33 countries represented by 288 competitors.
Involving archers Kristine Esebua — a 2016 world championship runner-up — as well as Khatuna Narimanidze and her daughter Tsiko Phutkaradze, the Georgian squad claimed the title after defeating Japan with a score 5-3.
