Prime Minister Kvirikashvili meets with world leaders in Jordan

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili is taking part in the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in Jordan.

During the forum today he discussed Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, the country’s ongoing reforms and upcoming Eastern Partnership (EaP) Summit with Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

The parties also hoped the upcoming EaP Summit scheduled in the Belgium’s capital of Brussels in November will have the practical outcomes for the EaP member states.

Mogherini once again reiterated her support towards Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. She also said the European Union remains committed to non-recognition policy of the Russian occupied regions of Georgia – Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Meeting with Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, Kvirikashvili discussed global economic challenges, regional cooperation and Georgia’s participation in regional projects.

In particular, Georgia’s role in the Silk Road project and the country’s potential as a competitive transit corridor for trade between Europe and Asia were on the top of agenda.

Within his visit to the World Economic Forum on MENA on May 19-21 Prime Minister Kvirikashvili has met with Jordan's Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Prime Minister Hani Mulki, King of Spain Felipe VI, Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Borge Brende and other European leaders.
