Georgia and New Zealand are exploring opportunities to deepen political relations and tighten economic ties.
The second round of political consultations between Georgia and New Zealand took place in Wellington today, focusing on trade cooperation potential between the two countries.
The Georgian side, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Davit Jalaghania, presented Georgia’s recent reforms and economic achievements.
"The parties expressed their readiness to support the promotion of Georgia’s investment opportunities in New Zealand”, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Apart from bilateral relations, the sides discussed cooperation multilaterally and in different regional formats.
The occupation of Georgia’s territories by Russia was also in focus at the meeting. The New Zealand side confirmed that it firmly supports Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and is committed to the policy of non-recognition of Georgia’s breakaway regions.
The third round of consultations is scheduled in Tbilisi in 2018.
