‘Government City’ to be built in Tbilisi

Georgia is introducing a completely new model for effective governance - a Government City, where all state ministries will be located.

A huge territory is already allocated where all the ministries will be replaced. This is good as more free space will be created for new offices and new hotels in the centre of the city. Also, on the other hand, the construction sector will be given a stimulus”, said Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili at today’s Government meeting.

The PM said the new Government City will be built within the governance reform program the country has been implementing.

The new Government City will be built in Tbilisi's Ortachala district, near to the Business House.

The construction of the Business House started last year. The Business House will unite more than 600 state services needed for the business community to effectively do their jobs.
