Georgian Karate fighter defeats world and European champion, wins German premier league

Georgian Karate fighter Gogita Arkania has won the German premier league-German Open, one of the most prestigious competition in the sport.

In the final battle last week he defeated the European and the world champion in Karate Jonathan Horne, a captain of the German team.

Arkania (84kg) held six fights, the last one with Horne.

104 sportsmen fought in his weight.

Arkania is a member of the Georgian Karate team and as experts say he has a good chance to represent Georgia at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Georgian Karate fighter Gogita Arkania has claimed a gold medal at the 2021 World Karate Championships, becoming the world champion for the second time. 37-year-old Arkania became the world champion for the first time in 2014.
