Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met with his German counterpart Michael Roth today, where the parties discussed political and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Janelidze and Roth emphasised importance of 2017 as the year of friendship between Georgia and Germany. They both said the variety of events scheduled during the year contributes to deepening the ties between Georgian and German people.

The special emphasise was made on cooperation between Georgia and Germany in the field of education. Janelidze believes Germany’s experience in dual education system is important for Georgia.
Janelidze arrived to Germany on Friday and met with the representatives of German government and business circles.
Within his visit Janelidze met with the State Minister of Hessen Lucia Puttrich and the President of Hessen State Parliament Norbert Kartmann.

Before departure Minister Janelidze attended an international festival where a Georgian band Tutarchela also participated. The Georgian band is one of the winners of a competition announced by the German Embassy to Georgia.
