Farmer lost along state border found safe

The Border Police of Georgian Interior Ministry has found a farmer who had been lost along the Georgian-Russian state border.

The Interior Ministry said a man called the border police department of the Georgian region of Kakheti on July 19 saying his friend went missing as he had not returned with his cattle the previous evening.

Zurab Chakhtauri has been allegedly detained by the Russian border guards for pasturing sheep near the state border.

However, as Chakhtauri had special permission, the border guards returned the man to Georgian law enforcers yesterday.

He was taken home safe on a helicopter.
