A new photo exhibition by acclaimed artist Manana Menabde will present places she’s visited and people she’s met over the past 20 years when it opens at the Tbilisi History Museum this evening.
Her exhibition, titled Illusions, will feature a series of photographs including portraits and spontaneous urban scenes captured by the artist in cities around the world over the past two decades.
The collections include a series of images named Graphic Photos, Watercolour and Lights and Shadows, with most works taken by Menabde using amateur cameras and with little or no post-editing.

In a deliberate move from the artist, the photographs will be given no titles or descriptions, allowing visitors to create their own interpretation of the pieces.
The titles of the series are also a reflection of Menabde's multi-profiled work in art. She is primarily known for her musical performances while also working in painting and film.
The month-long exhibition will be the first time Menabde has presented her photographs to the public, with the works curated by Lika Mamatsashvili.

Menabde has worked in photography and painting since the early 1990s. She worked and based herself in Germany’s capital Berlin beginning in 1991.
The artist held exhibitions and performances in Germany, Russia and Georgia before returning to the country of her birth.
The exhibition Illusions will run until April 15, 2016.
