President of Kyrgyzstan visits Georgia

The President of Kyrgyzstan and his wife are coming to Georgia for an official visit today.

After the presidential couple arrive, Georgia's President Giorgi Margvelashvili will hold an official ceremony to welcome Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev and his wife at the Presidential Palace in Avlabari, Tbilisi.

This afternoon Atambayev will hold a face-to-face meeting with Margvelashvili, while tomorrow a similar meeting will take place in an extended format involving other local high officials.

Also tomorrow the visiting leader will pay tribute to the memory of soldiers who died fighting for the territorial integrity of Georgia, and will lay a wreath at the national memorial at Heroes Square in Tbilisi.

Tomorrow Margvelashvili and Atambayev will hold a joint press conference and discuss aspects of the bilateral meeting.

In honour of the President of Kyrgystan and his wife, Georgia's President will host an official lunch.

The foreign couple are due to depart later tomorrow evening.
