The iconic 12th Century poem by famous Georgian author Shota Rustaveli The Knight in the Panther’s Skin has been translated into Arabic.
The latest translation is the second Arabic translation and deemed the most updated and accurate version of the poem.
The book has already been presented at the 47th International Book Festival of Cairo in Egypt.
The new translation of the famous poem was sponsored by the Georgian Embassy in Egypt and supported by the Egyptian government.
The official presentation of the translation is scheduled tomorrow.
The previous and the only Arabic translation of the poem was completed by Syrian translator Nizar Khalil in 1984 and it was published in Syria.
One week ago the poem was re-translated into Bulgarian.
Last year a perfect, English language translation of the poem by American Lyn Coffin was also published.
