US Ambassador: “Pre-election environment is civilised”

US Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly said his country was ready to help Georgia address the existing problem related to the leak of personal videos.

US Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly says the ongoing election campaign in Georgia for the Parliamentary Elections on October 8 is underway in a peaceful and civilised way.

He voiced this assessment statement when speaking to local media earlier today.

I must say, this is quite a good campaign. The environment is very civilised. It started only recently but I cannot wait for the next stages,” said Ambassador Kelly.

He also stressed it was important for the US that the upcoming elections in Georgia are free and fair.

Election campaigning in Georgia officially launched on June 8, 2016 - four months ahead of Election Day, set for October 8, 2016.
