Two cars, one with Georgian diplomatic license plates and the other with French, have been set alight and burnt in Berlin early this morning.
The vehicles belonged to the Georgian and French Embassies in Germany.
German police have launched an investigation into the incidents, treating both cases as arson.
Local media reported two diplomatic vehicles were set alight at two different locations in the German capital within about 25 minutes of each other.
German daily newspaper Der Tagesspiegel reported the first fire involving the Georgian diplomatic car was noticed at about 2.35am. The vehicle was a Mercedes-Benz Vito and it was severely damaged.

The other incident took place about 3am where the French diplomatic car, a Renault model vehicle, was set on fire. The fire was severe but did not cause as much overall damage as it was extinguished quicker.
No one was injured in either of the incidents.
Georgia’s Foreign Minister said it was informed about the vehicle fire and was now waiting for the results of the investigation.
This wasn’t the first time an incident like this has happened in Berlin. Local media said several other cars were also set alight in the early hours of Sunday morning in other central city streets.
