Georgia has come up with a creative idea to make books more attractive for children while they play in a playground or to keep parents entertained as they sit nearby as their kids play.
A Georgian construction company installed small libraries in a Tbilisi playground where children or their parents can borrow a book and read it while relaxing.
The libraries looked like small colorful bird houses and contained books for both adults and children.

Readers were allowed to take a book home to finish reading and they were also encouraged to donate books to the libraries.
The company behind the initiative was Tbilisi-based Tride Group. The company set up the first playground library in front of a residential apartment in Tbilisi’s Didube district.

The initiative was welcomed by the neighbourhood. Locals said having books right there where children played would make reading more attractive for children.
