Football fans across the globe are applauding a Georgian-born United States (US) football star, who scored an outstanding goal from more than 60 yards (55m) out.
San Antonio Scorpions’ midfielder Zurab Tsiskaridze scored the unbelievable goal while his team played against Minnesota United FC on Saturday, April 25.
The goal came from a set-play from inside his own half just minutes after the North American Soccer League (NASL) match started. The free-kick took advantage of the visitors’ out-of-position keeper.

This is the second time Tsiskaridze has scored from afar. In 2012 he was crowned the honour of scoring the farthest goal in Swedish Superettan history, a 65-metre kick, while he played for club Jonkopings Sodra IF.

Tsiskaridze, 28, was born in Tbilisi, Georgia but moved to the US as a child, where he later received US citizenship and pursued his football career.
