A new service is being launched today that allows socially vulnerable families in Georgia to enjoy the services of lawyers for free.
A new amendment in Georgian law means from today, the state will cover the full cost of lawyer expenses for more than 200,000 socially vulnerable families.
The eligible families can use lawyers’ services for criminal proceedings, and for civil and administrative affairs.
The initiator of the amendment was Member of Parliament and Legal Affairs Committee member Zakaria Kutsnashvili.
Later today Kutsnashvili and director of Legal Aid Services Meliton Beridze will visit Mtskheta and be introduced to the new service together with the local population.
