Trade Mission representing 10 Dutch companies visits Georgia

A Trade Mission from the Netherlands is visiting Georgia to learn about the country’s environment and establish a solid partnership with local private sector representatives and Government institutions.

The Netherlands’ Deputy Minister for Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Simon Smith is leading the Trade Mission, which includes a business delegation representing ten successful Dutch companies.

To foster and encourage new business cooperation opportunities, 153 meetings were arranged between the Georgian and Dutch companies’ representatives at the Netherlands-Georgia Business Forum today.

A total of 63 Georgian companies were represented at today’s forum.

The Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Netherlands’ Embassy to Georgia organised today’s bilateral event.

The ten Dutch companies represented by the delegation were heavily involved in the agriculture industry, such as market-gardening, fruit-growing, greenhouse, meat products, potatoes, enzymes and additives for dairy producers, additives and premixes for swine and poultry.

In addition, some companies were involved in international consulting, water management, infrastructure, and security systems.

Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry officials believed Georgian companies needed to establish a solid partnership with international players to assist Georgia as it prepared to export its products abroad.

The Business Forum was a one-day event however the Trade Mission will spend several days in Georgia.
