Georgian youth are enjoying the opportunity to become a European Union (EU) reporter thanks to the launch of the EU 3-minute Film Festival.
The festival, now in its fourth year, addressed young participants aged between 16 and 25 and invited them to take short films on their mobile phones about EU-funded projects in Georgia. The competition will run from March 27 to May 31.
A three-member jury will announce three winners in early June. Prizes up for grabs include one iPhone 5, one iPad and one digital camera for first, second and the third places respectively.
The Festival was supported by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia, which launched this year's event at a joint press conference with members of the Delegation of the EU to Georgia.
The Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia, Levan Kipiani said:
I am glad our youth is participating in this interesting project which reflects the long term assistance of the EU towards our country. I hope that this year again young Georgian people will present their original films. The fact that the 3-minute Film Festival has been organised for a fourth year indicates our country’s intention to become a full member of the EU family and share European values.”
Georgian youth willing to participate in the competition can find more information about the competition rules and regulations on the website: www.eu3min.ge.
Participants are requested to upload their videos on YouTube and then copy the video link to the EU website with their full name, e-mail address, phone number, the title of the film and any other comment.
