A new film project by a budding Georgian director has gained international support at the French event, The World Cinema Manufactures.
Rusudan Chkonia’s project for a film titled Venice was named among the ten shortlisted projects whose directors will benefit from personalised support from the Cannes Film Festival. The chosen directors will be taught how to position themselves in the international market and complete their financial round through international co-productions.
Designed and organised by the French Institute, The World Cinema Manufactures is a professional program that contributes to the emergence of young artists of the South in the international arena.
The World Cinema Manufactures is hosted by the French Institute in close relationship with the Cannes Film Festival and the Film Market, and is sponsored annually by internationally renowned filmmakers and official partners of the International Organisation of La Francophonie.
The selection committee selected ten directors/producers who were working on their first or second feature film.
