Family members of Georgian citizens living in breakaway Abkhazia, who come to Tbilisi for medical treatment, are able to be with their loved ones when they receive treatment through a new housing initiative.

A residential complex opened today in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi where family members of patients from breakaway Abkhazia – one of the Russian-occupied regions of Georgia – can stay while their loved ones are treated for their illnesses.

The living complex was officially opened by the Government of Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency.

The complex was now available for family members of patients who come to Tbilisi and receive medical treatment within the referral program.

The living space featured two bedrooms with seven beds, a kitchen equipped with "modern technologies” and a bathroom.
