American, Canadian, Lithuanian, Romanian and Swedish Permanent Representatives to the OSCE (Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe) are set to visit Georgia.
The officials will arrive in Georgia's capital Tbilisi tomorrow.
This will be the first visit of the OSCE Permanent Representatives to the country since July 2008.
While here the Permanent Representatives will hold meetings with Georgia's President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili, Defence Minister Tinatin Khidasheli and other local high officials.
Meetings were also scheduled at the Georgian Public Defender’s Office, the European Union (EU) Monitoring Mission to Georgia and with civil society representatives.
"During the visit the Permanent Representatives will be able to learn about the security situation along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) [between Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region and the rest of Georgia] and [to hear about] problems of the local population,” Georgia’s Foreign Ministry said.
The Permanent Representatives will also visit Khurvaleti village, where Russian border guards have illegally erected barbed wire fences before paying a visit to the internally displaced people’s (IDP) settlement in Tserovani.
The foreign guests will end their three-day visit to Georgia on November 4.
