A week-long festival of American culture has kicked off in Georgia today.
With a broad range of events planned, America Days began in Zugdidi, western Georgia today and will continue throughout the week in Akhaltsikhe, southern Georgia on June 3, Gori in central Georgia on June 4, and end in capital Tbilisi on June 6.
The United States (US) Ambassador to Georgia Richard Norland and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili opened the Zugdidi celebration earlier today.
The day started with an American Studies Conference at Zugdidi State University, which was followed by an Information Fair, where people received information on exchange programs, Embassy grants, USAID projects and the Peace Corps in Georgia.

However, one of the most entertaining parts of the celebration is still ahead. This evening US hip-hop and rock fusion music group Dangerflow will perform at Zugdidi City Park.
During America Days, guests can also watch street dancing performed live by both Georgian and American artists and youth.
All events in Georgia’s four cities are free and open to the public. The US Embassy invited everyone to join and celebrate the American culture in Georgia.
