Georgia is marking Independence Day today, however for the past four years the date has also been associated with the violent dispersal of an anti-government protest rally.
The forceful crackdown resulted in the death of four people, while thousands more were injured.
Every year participants of the 2011 rally, as well as the friends and relatives of those who were killed, remembered the event and pay their respects.
Today the Georgian Dream party posted several pictures from the rally, which showed protesters being violently beaten up, and added this was a day that would "never happen again.”
