Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski completed the ratification of the Association Agreement (AA) between Georgia and the European Union (EU) today.
The official ratification process started in February 2015 in the Polish Sejm - the lower house of the country's Parliament and was finally completed today ahead of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Summit, currently taking place in Riga today and tomorrow.

During the voting process, 439 Sejm members voted in favour of the ratification of the deal, zero were against it and one abstained from voting.
Poland was the 13th EU member state to ratify the EU-Georgia deal.
The AA deal was signed by Georgia and the EU on June 27, 2014 in Brussels.
European Parliament approved the EU-Georgia deal on December 18, 2014.
Other countries that have already ratified the important deal are: Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Finland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Germany, Slovenia, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Croatia, Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Slovakia, Malta, Latvia, Lithuania and Bulgaria.
EU Association deal needs to be ratified by all 28 EU member countries before they can be fully implemented.
