The Georgian Defence Minister celebrates Orthodox New Year with military servicemen.
Irakli Alasania visited the V Infantry Brigade in Gori today and wished them a Happy New Year. He thanked the soldiers for their honorable service and pledged to support them to carry out future plans.
"Id like to wish our military servicemen, officers, sergeants and our country a happy and a peaceful year," Alasania said.
"Id also like to wish our soldiers, who are contributing in Afghanistan, to return to their homeland and families without loss," he said.
"I am sure this year will be a very successful year for our country. I would like the whole of Georgia to know that the Armed Forces and Defence Ministry of Georgia will play a significant role in the prosperity of our country, Alasania added.
Deputy Defence Minister Alex Batiashvili and Deputy Chief of General Staff Colonel Vladimer Chachibaia also visited the V Infantry Brigade. They wished the soldiers success and discussed future plans with them.
