Three people were arrested by police after a mid-city clash between pro-Russian and anti-Russian supporters in Tbilisi today.
Members of non-governmental organisation The Earth Is Our Home protested against the West slapping sanctions on eleven high-level Russian officials linked to Russia's military incursion into Crimea, Ukraine.
Chairperson of the organization Elguja Khodeli held a Russian flag while being interviewed when he was attacked by opposition activists.
The anti-Russian protestors said they did not belong to any organised group or organisation and condemned Russia’s actions in Georgia and Ukraine.
The two controverted groups were parted by police after a physical altercation between them. The area was then cordoned off so the pro-Russian protestors could leave peacefully.
The three detained people were released after being given a summons to appear in court tomorrow.
