The Georgian Parliament website is in jeopardy after hackers took control of the website.

This is the second time hackers have gained unauthorized access to the website, following an attack in December last year.

The website is down for the second day while department experts evaluate and fix the problems.

Parliaments Informative Technologies Department Head, Merab Gotsiridze, said the website was "entirely damaged and the file system had been annulled. He said the recovery team were working on creating a new file system. As Gotsiridze said, this was essential in case the hackers attacked the website again. He said the Georgian Parliament website was vulnerable and was not properly secured.

"The control panel through which the site is managed is quite vulnerable. It was forcefully installed when Zurab Adeishvili [Ministry of Justice in 2008-2012] was in office, Gotsiridze said.

Parliament and Justice Minister representatives say the detailed information about the attack on the website will be revealed soon.
