Former president Saakashvili season’s greetings from New York

Georgias former President has greeted the public with a New Year message on Parliament member Giorgi Vashadzes Facebook page.

Mikheil Saakashvili released the festive greeting to Georgian citizens from New York, United States of America.

In a public video message, the former president said the future of Georgia looked bright.

"The main topic is that Georgia will overcome the challenges and return to the regular and important way of development. We have no right to lag behind the path of the world development and global processes, he said in the video.

"Georgia was the part of global processes and it has to come back in the advanced ranks. I believe that the Georgian people are very strong.

"I love all of you and happy New Year from [the] worlds capital city. I believe that we are the strongest and will stay as we are.

Saakashvili welcomed 2014 in New York with his friend. He was also joined by Members of Parliament from the UNM party, which he leads, including Giorgi Vashadze and Davit Sakvarelidze.
