The vital upgrade to modernize military facilities at a base in Senaki has been praised by a Government military official.
Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania visited the II Infantry Brigade base in Senaki, in the western city of Georgia, to review the completed repair work.
During the first stage of repairs, major work was carried out on 11 barracks and staff buildings, the central heating system was rehabilitated and a ventilation system was installed. Bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets, classrooms and halls were also repaired in the barracks.
Alasania said Georgian military servicemen now had the opportunity to serve in more modernized conditions at Senaki base.
"[The] Government of Georgia takes responsibility to improve conditions for our brave soldiers who undergo compulsory or professional military service. Quality is essential for us. Thats why we monitor the ongoing infrastructural projects. Remarks made by leadership and military have already been taken into consideration, Alasania said.
The Minister promised that the Government would aim to ensure all Georgian soldiers lived and worked in worthy conditions.
