As the clock struck midnight, Georgian citizens began to gather outside the Parliament Building in the centre of Tbilisi in a bid to show support to the ongoing demonstrations in Kiev and across Ukraine.
Last night, crowds of Georgian demonstrators waved Ukrainian and Georgian flags and powerful slogans in protest towards the violence in the centre of Kiev.
Global media reported 21 people – 14 protestors and seven police - have been killed in the Ukraine clashes.
Leaders of the United National Movement (UNM) joined the demonstration last night on Rustaveli Street.
"This fight of the Ukrainian people is directly related to us,” UNM’s Giga Bokeria said.
Georgian protestors said all that was happening in Ukraine was "alarming” and could only be called Russian provocation.
"Kiev is burning. There are people who want well-being and on the other side there are Putin’s slaves who are killing peaceful people. We have to support them,” one demonstrator said.
Last night’s peaceful rally was planned and organized spontaneously on social media site Facebook.
