Dozens of pieces of modern art by contemporary Georgian artists will be on display for three days this month at the former residence of the country’s President.

The exhibition, titled "Art Rules” will be held at the Avlabari Residence on February 20-23. Up to 50 contemporary pieces of art will be exhibited, including photos, painting, graphics, audio and video art performances.

The initiative was the brain-child of Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, said Shalva Ramishvili, head of the President’s Administration’s PR and communications department.

At a press conference, Ramishvili said the "Art Rules” exhibition was a joint project between the President’s Administration and Georgian TV broadcaster Artarea.

"The aim of exhibition is to popularize modern art. This showcases Georgia’s willingness to communicate with other parts of the World through base talent and freedom of creation,” Ramishvili said.

President Margvelashvili will open the exhibition in a ceremony on February 20. From February 21, guests will be able to visit the exhibition for free between 6-9pm.
