The Government is not planning to change any of its staff in the near future, according to a statement released on January 4 by the press center of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
However, according to the statement, a new Chief Prosecutor will be appointed in the next few days.
This is the only change in the Government that is planned, said the statement.
The Chief Prosecutor of Georgia Otar Partskhaladze, who faced lingering allegations over his criminal record in Germany, resigned on December 30 after 40 days in office. He mentioned that he found himself obliged to respect the society who had questions about the Chief Prosecutors biography.
