A highway project connecting Tbilisi and Rustavi highway project and construction of a new subway station in Saburtalo have been discussed by Georgia’s Infrastructure Minister and Asian Development Bank.
Minister Davit Narmania and bank representatives discussed Georgia’s ongoing infrastructure projects which fall under the Sustainable Urban Transport Investment program. The program is supported by the Asian Development Bank.
One project involved in the program was the construction of a highway to link Tbilisi to Rustavi, a southeast city of Georgia. The project is being led by Chinese company Sinohydro Corporation Ltd and the project workers are Georgian citizens.
At the meeting, the parties also discussed the construction of a new subway station "University” in Tbilisi’s downtown district Saburtalo.
The Asian Development Bank is a regional development bank established on August 22, 1996, to facilitate economic development of countries in Asia.
