Wild weather is causing problems in the Adjara region, western Georgia’s Black Sea coastal area.

Heavy rain caused several streets to flood in the region's capital Batumi, while snow blocked roads in the mountainous Adjara area.

In the Khelvachauri municipality, 12 families were under threat as the Korolistskali river swelled and changed its route.

Rescue officers are searching for a 45-year-old man who went missing after he tried to save a dog who fell in the swollen river in Kobuleti resort.

Traffic movement was banned along the Goderdzi mountain pass after nine vehicles were taken out of the snow overnight.

Heavy rain caused landslides at several locations in Adjara.

Batumi locals said floods had damaged the lower floors of their houses and ruined almost all domestic electronics. Since this morning rescue groups were pumping water out of flooded buildings.
