The President of Georgia has taken part in a Holocaust Remembrance Day, which pays tribute to the genocide of six million Jews by the Nazis during World War II.
President Giorgi Margvelashvili paid his respects and attended the remembrance ceremony at the Radisson Blu Iveria hotel today, January 27.
"The evil is dwelled in man unfortunately but this evil should not be allowed to cement,” Margvelashvili said at the event.
"The evil in person should be defeated by morality and inner discipline. Society should never boost the arising of this evil.”
The event was organized by the International Fund ‘Lea’ - the Jewish women’s council.
Head of the Fund Marina Solomnishvili said it was extremely important to remember this tragedy - the genocide of six million Jews by the Nazis during the World War II.
The Holocaust Memorial Day was attended by the Public Defender Ucha Nanuashvili, Ambassador of the USA Richard Norland and diplomatic corps.
