From today it has become easier for foreign citizens to access public services in Georgia.
A special area has been established at the Public Service Hall in Tbilisi where foreigners can go when they need assistance, said executive director of the Public Service Hall Irakli Lomidze at a press conference today.
The Foreigners Service Area, which opened today, was clearly signposted from the entrance of the Public Service Hall. At the newly established area, people can receive all necessary information in English and Russian.
Lomidze said the decision to establish a special area for foreigners living in Georgia was made after amendments to the law on citizenship came in force. Because of this, higher numbers of international guests appeared at the Public Service Hall to complete residency applications or other formal documents, so it was deemed necessary to offer them extra help, particularly if they didn’t speak the local language.
A letter explaining the newly established Foreigners Service Area at the Public Service Hall has been sent to all Embassies and Consulates in Georgia.
