Georgia has been ranked in the top five countries to visit in 2014 by leading travel website www.roughguides.com.

The website, which released a list of its top 10 countries to visit this year, is designed for tourists and offers information on different tourist destinations around the world.

Topping the list was Ethiopia, followed by Madagascar, Brazil then Turkey. Georgia, ranked fifth, was named ahead of Rwanda, Japan, Bulgaria, Macedonia and the Philippines.

For each country, a photo, brief description and an inspiring video was provided.

Georgias description read: "Georgia is currently untouched by mass tourism but things are changing so go now to enjoy the unspoiled hiking in the Caucasus mountains, the historic taverns of Tbilisi, the Black Sea resort of Batumi and the gorgeous old towns of Svaneti and Kazbegi. Visiting is easier than ever before; citizens of all EU countries, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada and South Africa can now enter the country visa-free for up to 360 days.

Even though we loved the country's description, Agenda.ge would like to make a correction with the location: Georgia is in the Caucasus region of Eurasia, not in Central Asia. :-)

Get inspired to visit Georgia!
