Ministers’ monthly salaries slashed

Georgias Prime Minister has slashed Ministers monthly salaries by more than a thousand GEL.

Ongoing debate surrounding the salaries of Georgian Ministers prompted Irakli Garibashvili to drop the Ministers monthly salary by 1300 GEL (732 USD).

The Prime Minister has already signed the order to decrease the leaders salaries.

According to the changes, the monthly salary of the ministers will now be 5,000 GEL (2,815 USD). Until now Ministers earn 6,300 GEL (3,547 USD) per month.

"The decision to cut their salaries was a result of many questions among society. So the Prime Minister followed up on this and decided to cut the Ministers salaries, the Prime Ministers press center declared.
