Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has expressed his deep sorrow following the death of NATO servicemen in Afghanistan.
Four Czech ISAF soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday.
"On the behalf of Georgia’s Government and Georgian people, I express my condolences to the Czech Government, Czech people and the killed soldiers’ families,” Garibashvili said.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, Reuters reported.
The attack took place amid deteriorating security in Afghanistan as most ISAF forces prepare to leave the country after 12 years of war against Taliban insurgents.
Several Battalions of Georgian soldiers participated in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan but have since been redeployed to serve in the EU-led mission in the Central African Republic.
