Elections: More voters asked to recast votes

Voters from more than a dozen polling stations across the country are being asked to recast their vote on June 29 after results were annulled at 14 election precincts.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) today announced a revote would take place in seven additional precincts on top of seven others announced earlier.

Voters in Tetritskaro, Dusheti, Akhalkalaki, Marneuli, Khoni, Tkibuli, Zugdidi, Batumi and Kobuleti districts will return to polling stations this Sunday to recast their ballots.

A repeat vote will be held after results from the June 15 municipal election results were annulled because of unlawful ballot-stuffing.

The precincts where results were annulled and repeat polls will be held are:

- N25 and N57 Election Precincts of N22 Marneuli DEC;

- N22 Election Precinct of N55 Khoni DEC;

- N2 and N5 Election Precincts of N57 Tkibuli DEC;

-N32 Election Precinct of N67 Zugdidi DEC;

-N34 Election Precinct of N81 Kobuleti DEC.

-N5 Election Precinct of N26 Tetritskaro DEC.

-N4, N6, N47 and N52 Election Precincts of N28 Dusheti DEC.

-N1 Election Precincts of Akhalkalaki N40 DEC.

-N103 Election Precinct of Batumi N79 DEC.
