Several minutes before Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze met with Energo-Pro Georgia representatives, he blamed the company for acting irresponsibility, particularly during the winter months.

Kaladze said society and the Ministry were not pleased with the companys activity, and he emphasized that the company was obliged to support residents with energy even during severe weather.

"Today the strong wind and rain can damage electricity. This shouldnt be a reason to turn off the electricity in the regions, Kaladze said

"Its raining and snowing in the other countries also, but it doesnt impact their electricity distribution.

Kaladze reminded the company representatives that more than 60,000 residents of West Georgia remained without electricity due to heavy snow last month.

"These problems were initiated during the previous government. They used to ignore it but I dont want to disregard it. This company faces very serious problems and I am not content with the way it works, Kaladze said.

The bilateral meeting between the Energo-Pro Georgia representatives and Minister of Energy was closed to media.
