There were 27,000 cases when President Saakashvili sold public property for a symbolic amount of 1 GEL or alienated for free, Archil Kbilashvili, Georgian Chief Prosecutor says.
"The President has the right to manage public property, but if its proved that his management was based on illegal purposes, then its a violation, Kbilashvili said.
Kbilashvili also added that there are a lot of investigations related with financial-economic issues going on, but so far, there is no need for the president to be interrogated.
According to the Chief Prosecutor, there are a lot of questions about the 2011-2012 budget of the Georgian National Security Council, too. Kbilashvili said that Giga Bokeria, Secretary of the Security Council who is about to leave his post, might be interrogated by police.
The Chief Prosecutor also commented on ex Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaias court trail in which he wasnt found guilty. Kbilashvili said that the Prosecutor will appeal this decision to the higher court.
Kbilashvili was asked about his possible appointment as a General Auditor of Georgia, but he neither confirmed nor denied this information.
"My position isnt a politicians post but it is very much related with politics. When we have a new Prime Minister, there might be some other changes as well. Everything will be decided in several days, so we will see, Chief Prosecutor said.
