President Margvelashvili named three candidates for vacant post at GNCC

Giorgi Margvelashvili named three candidates for the vacant post at the Georgian National Communications Commission.  

The candidates have been presented to the parliament today.

Tamaz Inashvili, Kakhi Bekauri and Sergo Shavgulidze are those three candidates. The parliament will choose one candidate out of the three.  

Kakhi Bekauri was a director of the TV9 Channel owned by the family of ex-PM Bidzina Ivanishsili in the past. Before this he was leading some TV channels, among them Maestro and Mze.  

Sergo Shavgulidze is an acting head of the radio frequenecy management department of GNCC and has more than 140 scientific works published. He had participated in the competition for the member of GNCC but never succeeded to be selected by the ex-President Saakashvili.

As for the third candidate, Tamaz Inashvili is a head of the legal security and sdministration department at Ltd Georgian Water and Power. Before this he was a head of legal department at energy regulatory body.

The Georgian President has chosen the three candidates to agree with the Georgian government according to the Article 9 and 10 of the Law on Broadcasting.

The GNCC commissioner's post became vacant after the Parliament dismissed the commission Chairman Carlo Kvitaishvili through impeachment.
