Suspended Mayor states the Chief Prosecutor tried in 2001 for armed robbery

According to the suspended Mayor of Tbilisi, the Chief Prosecutor, Otar Partskhaladze has been tried for armed robbery in Germany in May, 2001.  

Gigi Ugulava demanded from the Georgian government to remove the Prosecutor from his activities until society will be fully informed about his offence.  

"The Chief Prosecutor of Georgia Otar Partskhaladze has been tried by the Augsburg District Court according to the Article 249 and 252 of the criminal code of Germany for armed robbery. He was sentenced to detention for one year and 3 months in the Augsburg penal institution. Additionally he was deprived of passive electoral rights and the right to occupy certain positions. The additional punishment is valid until August 22, 2016. I urge the government to immediately respond to this case and remove Partskhaladze from office until the public will be fully informed of the criminal offence convicted by the Chief Prosecutor, Ugulava stated during the emergency press conference held today at the UNM office.  

He also called on the Minister of Justice Tea Tsulukiani to fully recognize her obligation and request the Partskhaladzes case from the German court.
